Covid 19- What has changed at the railway…

In these unprecedented times we have been doing everything within our power to make our railway a safe environment following guidelines set by the government.

  • We have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and shared it with the people that work here.

  • We have cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures in line with guidance.

Please be assured that we are keeping all areas of the railway cleaned and sanitised to a high standard, with enhanced regimes in place, in line with government guidelines. Sanitising/wash stations have been installed around the railway for your convenience.

  • We have taken all reasonable steps to maintain a 2 m distance in the workplace.

Passengers will be given allocated seats, allowing us to space visitors with a safe distance between them. 2 m markers are in place as a guide around the station. Please consider others around you at all times.

  • Where people cannot be 2m apart, we have done everything practical to manage transmission risk.

Face/coverings must be worn (by law) while travel onboard the train. They can be purchased from the shop should you forget your own. Plastic screens have been installed at our counters to reduce transmission. Limited customers will be allowed into the shop and tea room at any one time, allowing plenty of space at all time.
